People sometimes read the return cap as a limit on their total balance. It is not. Your principal — the amount you put in — sits outside the cap. The cap only limits the return earned on top of it.
Where to see it
Open any holding under My Investments. It shows two figures side by side: the return the holding has produced so far, and the return cap. When the first reaches the second, the holding stops earning and is paid out.
Withdrawals still count
If you move profit into your wallet mid-cycle, that amount is remembered against the cap. The holding does not get a fresh allowance by cashing out — the earned-so-far figure keeps climbing whether the return is sitting in the holding or already in your wallet.
Moving capital on
Once a holding is at or near its cap, the way to keep that money productive is to exit and put it into a fresh project, which starts with its own cap.
