Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what personal information FarmX collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the FarmX website, applications and services (the "Platform"). Our more formal data-protection framework — including the lawful bases we rely on and your full rights — is set out in our Data Protection Policy, which should be read alongside this policy.
1. Who we are
FarmX operates the Platform and is the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact us about privacy through the Contact page; mark your message for the attention of the Data Protection / Legal team.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- identity details — your name, date of birth, and identity-verification information or documents;
- contact details — email address, phone number and, where provided, address;
- financial details — your bank account details for withdrawals, and records of your deposits, investments, Returns, transfers and withdrawals;
- account and referral details — your username, wallet number, the referrer who invited you, and your position in the referral network;
- communications — messages you send us through support tickets, the contact form or live chat.
Information we collect automatically: device and connection information (IP address, browser and device type, operating system), approximate location derived from your IP address, pages viewed and actions taken on the Platform, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy).
Information we receive from others: results of identity and bank-account-name checks from our verification and payment partners, and information from our fraud-prevention tools.
3. How we use your information
- to create and run your account and Wallet;
- to process deposits, apply Returns, and review and pay withdrawals;
- to verify your identity and confirm that a withdrawal bank account is in your name;
- to operate the Referral Programme and calculate commissions;
- to detect, investigate and prevent fraud, money laundering and abuse, and to meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations;
- to provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- to monitor, secure, maintain and improve the Platform;
- to send you service messages, and — where you have not opted out or where you have consented — updates about FarmX.
4. Our legal bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on: performance of our contract with you; compliance with a legal obligation (for example anti-money-laundering and tax rules); our legitimate interests in preventing fraud, keeping the Platform secure, operating the Referral Programme and improving the service; and your consent (for example for certain communications and non-essential cookies). More detail is in the Data Protection Policy.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- service providers acting on our instructions — payment processors, cloud hosting and database providers, identity-verification providers, analytics providers, communication and live-chat providers;
- Operating Companies, where information is needed to administer a Farm Project you have invested in;
- our professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors);
- regulators, law enforcement, courts and other authorities where the law requires or permits it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- a buyer or successor, if FarmX is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for cross-site advertising.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside your country. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law, for example through contractual safeguards.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as you have an account and afterwards for the period required to meet our legal, regulatory, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. Financial and identity-verification records are generally kept for at least the minimum period set by applicable law. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it. See the retention section of the Data Protection Policy.
8. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, access controls on a need-to-know basis, a separate Transaction PIN for sensitive actions, monitoring, and due diligence on our suppliers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Some data must be kept even after a deletion request where the law requires it (for example AML records). You can also opt out of non-essential messages at any time. To exercise a right, contact us through the Contact page. See the Data Protection Policy for the full list of rights and how we handle requests, and for how to complain to a supervisory authority.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, secure the Platform, remember preferences and understand usage. See our Cookies Policy for the categories we use and how to control them.
11. Children
The Platform is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always on the Platform, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. Material changes will be notified by a reasonable means.
13. Contact
For any privacy question or request, use the Contact page and mark it for the Data Protection / Legal team.
